Glenn at Astrope is the man for firewood!…..
I’ve bought a pickup truck load of hardwood logs and they are excellent. Burn well and no rubbish.
Glenn is fast and convenient in the Berkhamsted/Tring area – you won’t get better.

I would gladly recommend Glenn and Astrope Logs to anyone…
I was lucky to find Astrope logs last year. Glenn is friendly and efficient and his logs are perfect. I bought Ash which cost a little more but they are the best logs for my fireplace and burner. They burn hot and slow and they don’t spit. I love them as it is no effort to keep the fire going and they really last. I ordered and received another tonne last month and they were barrowed and stacked by Glenn in no time.

From the taking of the order through the delivery and the fantastic dry logs Astrope Logs was fantastic. Professional, efficient, helpful, polite! And a cracking product to top it all off. Glenn took an order late Friday evening and it was with us early Saturday to keep us warm over the weekend when the boiler was broken. We will definitely be ordering again. Thanks!

Excellent dried logs, delivered and stacked…
We have just received our 3rd load of logs from Glenn at Astrope Firewood supplies. The logs are excellent, thoroughly dry leaving very little ash. Glenn stacks the logs for us very neatly, and is very reliable. He contacts us when he thinks we may need a top up. Really good customer service.

Great logs and personalised friendly service, there aren’t many companies these days which will work to a time slot (normally an am pm slot which means you have to be in most of the day). Would definitely recommend.

Very impressed. Wood of a high standard, very friendly, efficient and amenable service. Had been worried about not going for kiln dried but this wood is so well seasoned not an issue. Smaller vehicles (1.1 cubic mtrs) well suited for domestic customers. Combination of loose wood and barrow service to the rear of the house (small additional fee) much better than previous suppliers with large crates left on the edge of the road. Understand the wood is locally sourced and not imported.

Excellent service. Logs delivered within 2 hours of making the order! Well seasoned and no noticeable difference to kiln dried logs which are worse for the environment anyway. I ordered the truck load of 1.1 cubic metres which genuinely gives you a lot more than the bulk bags that say you get a cubic metre when you clearly don’t.

“The service was very good and I asked for borrowing and stacking, as I wouldn’t have been able to do it myself. Glen was extremely cheerful and helpful and had it done in a trice. The logs are a variety of different hardwoods, all of a good size, (unlike those from other suppliers some of which need to be split as they are too big for the fire) and burn very well. It’s great to be able to just pile the logs onto the fire and not have to keep coming back to turn them. Would I recommend Astrope Logs? Most certainly! Will I use them again? Can’t see why not – they’re the best!”

I stopped shopping around once I’d had a couple of loads from Astrope…
“Three years ago I had a woodburner installed, and it’s great. I used to shop around for firewood, first buying it by the sack (expensive), and then trying various local suppliers buying by the load (much more economical). However, I had varying quality of logs supplied and often experienced ‘reluctant’ fires if the wood wasn’t fully seasoned. I stopped shopping around once I’d had a couple of loads from Astrope, as the wood from them is consistently good in terms of quality and dryness – knock two logs together and it just ‘sounds’ right, and they burn keenly and without fuss. Glenn is reliable with deliveries and I usually just send him a text with a few days notice to order a fresh load; he’s responsive and helpful. So having found a reliable supplier of locally-sourced very good quality firewood, I can now spend my time enjoying the fire rather than searching around for that elusive ‘bargain’ that often leaves you disappointed”

Dry wood that burns well and cut to a sensible size…
“We have had a wood burner at our house for over 10 years and used different suppliers from around the Tring area. The overall quality of logs really does vary and often towards the end of the winter season the quality diminishes as suppliers send “green” wood that burns poorly and impacts the overall efficiency of the wood burner. Astrope logs have been delivering our wood for the past three years – always good quality throughout the season – dry wood that burns well and cut to a sensible size – we have had smaller loads but more recently gone for a truck load as that is more efficient. I would certainly recommend their responsiveness and friendliness – they deliver when they say and have always been flexible to deliver when I can be around to move them. I would highly recommend.”

“Having tried various local suppliers, with variable results, I’ve now stopped looking around as Astrope supply bone-dry seasoned logs and are flexible on delivery arrangements – I usually have mine delivered on a Saturday morning. They’re communicative, polite and helpful, so that ticks all the boxes. Yes, you can get cheaper, if you want what I call a ‘reluctant’ fire, but Astrope’s logs seem properly seasoned and take no effort in getting lit. Also, other suppliers often have logs that are too big for my modest wood burner; I rarely have to trim any of those from Astrope.”
